Sub: Grant of HRA at enhanced rates to the Central Government employees as per 2011 census.
It is reported that Registrar General & Census Commissioner of India has sent the final CD to Ministry of Finance containing the Final report of Urban Agglomeration (UAs) PCA of 2011, long back, But no decision is taken by the Finance Ministry till date for reclassification of cities/towns on the basis of 2011 census for the purpose of grant of HRA/Travelling Allowance.
It is requested to kindly take necessary action for getting the benefit of enhanced rate of HRA/Travelling Allowanceto the Central Government Employees on the basis of the latest report of Census 2011.

please tell me, if a central govt. employee resides at a house which is on the name of his wife, who is a state govt. employee and the headquarter is 22 Kms from the residence where is lives with his wife, can be claim HRA,
HRA is applicable if an employee did not avail govt accommodation. Otherwise there is no restriction in grant of HRA
