8th CPC invites applications for 11 posts on Deputation Basis

The 8th Central Pay Commission (8CPC), constituted by the Government of India, has issued a fresh Vacancy Circular dated 24 February 2026 (Ref: No. 10/04/2025-Estt/8CPC) inviting applications for 11 posts on deputation basis from Officers of the Central Government.

These appointments will remain in force from the date of joining until the tenure of the Commission, governed by DoPT norms. Officers who already applied in response to earlier circulars need not apply again — they will be assessed against the revised eligibility criteria automatically.

Tenure of AppointmentPosts are on deputation from the date of appointment until the tenure of the 8th Central Pay Commission. All appointments are governed by DoPT norms.
Earlier Applicants Need Not ReapplyOfficers who applied via circulars dated 29.12.2025 or 19.01.2026 do not need to apply again. Their candidature will be re-assessed against the revised eligibility criteria automatically.
Mandatory Supporting DocumentsCandidates must attach: APARs for last 5 years, Vigilance Clearance, and Cadre Clearance along with the filled proforma. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

A total of 11 posts: 2 posts of Director/Deputy Secretary (Level 13/12), 3 posts of Under Secretary (Level 11), and 6 posts of PSO/Sr. PPS/PPS/PS (Level 8 to 13). Up to 2 of the 6 secretarial posts are at PSO level.
Only Central Secretariat Service (CSS) officers are eligible. They must hold an analogous post on regular basis, or have 5 years’ service in Level-12 (Director), 10 years’ service in Level-11 (Director), or 5 years’ service in Level-11 (Dy. Secretary). A Bachelor’s degree is the minimum educational requirement.

Yes, but only if sufficient Central Government candidates are not available. State Government and Union Territory officers are considered as a secondary pool for PSO/Sr. PPS/PPS/PS posts under Annexure III.
The deputation runs from the date of appointment until the tenure of the 8th Central Pay Commission. All appointments are governed by DoPT (Dept. of Personnel & Training) norms as prescribed from time to time.
