Cyber Security Advisory for Pensioners During Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 4.0
The Department of Pension & Pensionersโ Welfare (DoPPW), under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, has issued a detailed advisory on cyber security measures for Central Government pensioners ahead of the Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 4.0, scheduled from November 1 to November 30, 2025.
The advisory aims to ensure a safe and seamless submission of annual life certificates by pensioners through various platforms, including Face Authentication Technology, biometric devices, mobile applications, and doorstep services.
Objective of the Advisory
The Department highlighted that the increasing use of digital platforms for pension-related services necessitates awareness of cyber security measures to protect pensioners from fraud, identity theft, and unauthorized access to personal or financial information.
Key Cyber Security Measures for Pensioners
1. Use Only Authorized Digital Platforms
- Submit your Digital Life Certificate only through official channels:
- Jeevan Pramaan Portal
- Post Office mobile app
- Aadhaar Face RD Application
- Avoid sharing personal details with unauthorized agents or unverified applications.
2. Secure Your Aadhaar Number and Pension Data
- Never share Aadhaar number, OTP, bank account details, PPO number, or mobile number with unknown persons.
3. Beware of Fraud Calls
- Government agencies never ask for passwords, OTPs, or bank PINs through calls or emails.
- Verify any communication claiming to be from government sources before responding.
4. Update Devices and Use Secure Internet
- Keep mobile phones and computers updated with the latest security patches and antivirus software.
- Use only secure Wi-Fi or trusted mobile networks while submitting life certificates.
5. Report Suspicious Activity
- In case of suspected fraud or misuse, pensioners should immediately report to their bank or to the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal at https://cybercrime.gov.in.
