Revised 7th Pay Commission Pay and Allowances Estimation Calculator on the basis of user suggestions

New 7th Pay Commission Pay Structure, Pay fixation method and fitment Formula

We had launched 7th Pay Commission Pay and Allowances Estimation Calculator in April 2014 and the same got wide spread response from GConnect Readers. Now on the basis of user suggestions we have revised this Calculator to incorporate following changes.

1. Earlier it was assumed that DA as on 1.1.2016 will be 120%. Now DA from January 2016 is assumed to be 125% as DA

2. Earlier 7th CPC pay was estimated by merging DA on 6th Pay in pay band as on 1st January 2016. Now DA on 6th CPC grade pay is also taken in to account for determining projected 7th Pay Commission Pay.

3. A fitment benefit of 40% of 7th CPC pay in pay band has been provided now to determine 7th Pay Commission grade pay. Grade Pay presently applicable to the concerned pay band is also added with this fitment benefit to calculate new 7th CPC Grade Pay.

4. Transport Allowance to be allowed by 7th Pay Commission is now calculated as two times of present Transport Allowance plus 128% 125% DA on present Transport Allowance.

Projected 7th Pay Commission House Rent Allowance:

As against determination of HRA as variable lump-sum amounts according to pay scales by earlier pay commissions, 6th Pay Commission had evolved the calculation of House Rent Allowance of Central Government Employees as a percentage of Pay in pay band and Grade Pay. This calculator also calculates HRA in these lines.

Projected 7th CPC Transport Allowance:

While 5th Pay Commission had allowed variable lump-sum amounts as Transport Allowance, 6th Pay Commission had recommended for payment of this allowance along with DA Component.

The Actual 7th Pay Commission Pay Band, Grade Pay etc will be known only after Govt implements the 7th Pay Commission’s recommendations. The pay structure given above may totally change based on various factors taken in to account by 7th Pay Commission to review the pay and allowances of Central Government Employees, Railway Employees and Defence personnel.
