Subject:- Continuation of HPCA/PCA -clarification reg.
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Ministry’s Office Memorandum of even number dated 17th December, 2012 conveying the approval of the Government for doubling the existing rate of payment of Hospital Patient Care Allowance (HPCA)/Patient Care Allowance (PCA) to all eligible Group ‘C” & “D” employees working in Hospitals, Dispensaries and Organizations in the Central Government from the period w.e.f 01.09.2008 and to say that this Ministry has been receiving references seeking information regarding continuation of HPCA/PCA beyond 31.12.2012.
2. In this connection, it is clarified that HPCA / PCA is admissible at double the existing rate since 01.09.2008. This O.M. is applicable till further orders. In view of the above, there is no requirement for granting extension beyond 31.12.2012 from time to time in this regard.
3. All the Ministries/Departments are requested to take note of above clarifications.
4. All other conditions, remain unchanged.
5. This issues in consultation with DOP&T vide Dy. No.55724/13/CR dated 12th August, 2013.
