CGHS FACILITY FOR EX-PARAMILITARY PERSONNEL
1519. ADV. DEAN KURIAKOSE:
Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) Whether the Government has received any request/proposal to establish a CGHS welfare facility for ex-paramilitary personnel in the hill area of Idukki and if so, the details thereof along with the action taken in this regard;
(b) Whether the Government is aware of the fact that ex-paramilitary personnel have to travel a distance of 250-300 Kms to avail the Digital Technology System under CGHS and if so, whether the Government proposes to set up such facility in a hospital in Idukki or open a new CGHS center with all equipment; and
(c) Whether the Government also proposes to open a fully functional CGHS facility at Idukki district for consultation of CGHS cardholders, including ex-paramilitary personnel and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c): Ministry takes a considered view regarding opening of new CGHS Wellness Centres at new places based on norms for opening new CGHS Wellness Centre, which include minimum of 6000 central government employees subject to availability of resources and sanction of new posts of staff by Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. CGHS beneficiaries residing in remote areas, have the option to avail tele-consultation from Specialists on e-Sanjeevani portal.
