“CGHS FACILITIES IN VISAKHAPATNAM”
1517. SHRI G.V.L. NARASIMHA RAO:
Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) the number of CGHS cardholders registered and the details of facilities in wellness centres in Visakhapatnam;
(b) the break-up of such serving card holders, department-wise;
(c) the number of wellness centres in Visakhapatnam and number required, as per norm, for establishment of wellness centres;
(d) whether it is a fact that Government of Andhra Pradesh has requested for funds for allotment of land, if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the status of land acquisition and the reasons for delay?

(a) to (e) There are two CGHS Wellness Centres in Visakhapatnam. There are 6296 (1437 serving and 4859 Pensioners) and 5703 (1500 serving and 4203 pensioners) cardholders registered with these two CGHS Wellness Centres in Visakhapatnam. The breakup of serving card holders, department-wise is not maintained. The norm for a CGHS Wellness Centre is a minimum of 6000 Central Government Serving Employees in a city. A proposal has been received.
