Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Invites Applications for Consultant Posts on Contract Basis
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has invited applications from retired Central Government employees for engagement as Consultants on a contractual basis. The recruitment drive aims to fill two Consultant positions in the PMSSY-II Section of the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
According to the official circular, retired officers up to the level of Under Secretary or equivalent are eligible to apply. Interested candidates must submit their applications within 30 days from the date of issue of the notification.

Eligibility Criteria
The Ministry is seeking retired Central Government officers who possess relevant administrative and project management experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

- Coordination with multiple Government agencies
Key Responsibilities
Selected Consultants will be responsible for assisting the PMSSY-II Section in monitoring and reviewing major healthcare infrastructure projects. Their responsibilities include:
- Examining project proposals and official documents
- Monitoring execution and progress of civil works
- Reviewing financial and physical progress of projects
- Tracking project timelines and preparing progress reports
- Preparing minutes of review meetings
- Coordinating with AIIMS, Government Medical Colleges, State Governments and implementing agencies
- Preparing presentations, briefs and meeting inputs
- Performing any additional duties assigned by the competent authority
Salary and Service Conditions
The engagement will initially be for one year, with the possibility of extension based on the Ministry’s requirements.
Some of the important service conditions are:
- Working hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (Monday to Friday)
- Leave entitlement: 1.5 days per completed month of service
- Remuneration will be calculated as Last Pay Drawn minus Basic Pension, subject to applicable deductions
- TA/DA will be admissible for official tours as per retirement entitlement
- No medical facilities will be provided by the Ministry
- Either party may terminate the contract by giving one month’s notice
