SHORTAGE OF DOCTORS IN CGHS DISPENSARIES
585. DR. C. M. RAMESH:
Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) whether there is shortage of doctors in CGHS dispensaries in New Delhi, the details thereof, CGHS dispensary-wise; and
(b) the details regarding sanctioned strength of doctors in these dispensaries, since when the vacancies have arisen and the steps taken by Government to fill up the posts for the benefit of patients?
ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (DR. BHARATI PRAVIN PAWAR)
(a) & (b): This Ministry has submitted requisition to Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in March, 2022, for recruitment of medical officers against accumulated vacancies, under Central Health Services, including CGHS Doctors, through Combined Medical Services Examination. Out of 176 vacant posts, 174 retired doctors have been engaged on contract basis against these vacant posts and posted in Wellness Centres as per the exigencies of work load.
