Will the Minister of PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES AND PENSIONS be pleased to state:-
(a) the tenure of office fixed for Central Government employees posted in Ladakh region of J&K State;
(b) whether the Government is considering to extend the tenure of Central Government employees posted in Ladakh to 2-3 years;
(c) if so, the details thereof;
(d) whether the Government is also considering to provide special incentives to employees posted in Ladakh region in view of extremely harsh and difficult working conditions prevailing there due to remoteness and extreme geo-climatic conditions; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?
ANSWER
Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office. (DR. JITENDRA SINGH)
(a): No tenure of office is fixed for Central Government Employees posted in Ladakh region of J&K State.
(b): No, Madam.
(c): Does not arise.
(d) & (e): Special incentives, such as Special (Duty) Allowance, Travelling Allowance on first appointment, Travelling Allowance on journey on transfer, Road mileage for transportation of personal effects on transfer, telephone facilities at place of last posting, additional House Rent Allowance as admissible at last place of posting, etc. have been provided with effect from 1st September, 2008, to civilian Central Government employees posted in Ladakh region.
