Out of turn promotions for Sports Persons – DOPT order issued

As perceived earlier (Read this article on expected orders from DOPT for out of turn promotions for sports persons), DOPT has issued the Orders for out of turn promotions for sports persons.

As per the the Office Memorandum F.No: 14034/1/2012-Estt.(D) dated 26.07.2012 the demand of grant of out of turn promotion for excellence in sports events has been considered by the Government and it has been decided to allow a maximum of three out of turn promotions to a sports person/coach for excellence in sports events as per the scheme evolved in this regard.

The said Office Memorandum dated 26.07.2012 also contains the detailed scheme for granting this out of turn promotion.
