Age Limit relaxation for Civil Service aspirants from the state of Jammu and Kashmir

In good news for civil service aspirants in Jammu and Kashmir, the Centre has extended till next year the relaxation in upper age limit for the residents of the state. According to the notified changes, people of the state can write All India Service Examination till they attain the age of 35 years.

At present, the lower age limit is 21 and the upper 30 to appear in central services examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). A notification in Jammu and Kashmir (Relaxation of upper age limit for recruitment to Central Civil Services and Posts) Rules, 1997, for relaxing upper age limit till 2013 has been issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

The relaxation in the upper age limit of five years is admissible for all persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir during January 1980 and December 1989. However, the relaxation is subject to the maximum number of chances permissible under the relevant rules of the UPSC or central government.

The DoPT has asked Ministry of Railways, Department of Banking/Department of Public Enterprises, Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Space/Department of Electronics/ Department of Non-Conventional Energy Sources for issue of similar orders for appointment to posts under their control/ nationalised banks/public sector undertakings.

NOTIFICATION

G.S.R. (E)————-In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 and clause (5) of article 148 of the Constitution, and after consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor-General of India in relation to the persons serving in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department, the President hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Residents of the State of Jammu and Kashmir (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit for Recruitment to Central Civil Services and Posts) Rules, 1997, namely:

 

1. (1) These rules may be called the Residents of the State of Jammu and Kashmir (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit for Recruitment to Central Civil Services and Posts) Amendment Rules, 2011.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Residents of the State of Jammu and Kashmir (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit for Recruitment to Central Civil Services and Posts) Rules, 1997, in rule 1, in sub-rule(3), for the figures “2011”, the figures “2013” shall be substituted.

  1. what about a person in general cast if he want to apply for higher post after completion of higher education(working in barc ) non kasmiri
