Tamilnadu Government announces bonus for PSUs -TNEB, TASMAC and Trasport Corporation employees to get bonus
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today announced a 20 per cent bonus to employees of public-sector undertakings, including electricity board, and to the Transport Corporation, costing over Rs. 185 crore to the exchequer.
In view of the coming festive season, Jayalalithaa said 20 per cent bonus would be paid to permanent employees of TANGEDCO, Rs. 1,500 for contract labourers benefitting 84,300 employees, which would cost Rs. 64.35 crore for the board.
Similarly, the Chief Minister also announced a 20 per cent bonus to the employees of Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation benefitting 1.38 lakh labourers costing 100.32 crore, an official release here said.
A 20 per cent bonus to the employees of Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) which manages the liquor business,was also announced by the Chief Minister costing Rs. 22.14 crore benefitting 28,910 employees.
Employees of Tamil Nadu Tea Plantation Corporation, Tamil Nadu Forest Plantation Corporation, Poompuhar Shipping Corporation Ltd., Tamil Nadu Text Book Corporation, Cooperative societies and government run sugar mills, Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Federation (AAVIN) and other government undertakings would receive bonus.
The bonus of 8.33 per cent would also be paid to Group C and D employees of Chennai Metrowater Supply and Sewage Board, the release said, adding, Chief Minister had given orders to pay them immediately.
