Retired Gazetted Officers Wanted as Consultants in Passport Offices
The Central Passport Organization (CPO) under the Ministry of External Affairs has invited applications from retired Gazetted Officers of the Central Government for engagement as Consultants in Passport Offices across the country. The engagement will be on a contractual basis and is intended to utilise the experience of retired officers in administrative and public-facing roles.
Position & Tenure
The engagement is for the post of Consultant in the Central Passport Organization. The initial tenure will be one year, which may be extended further based on performance, requirement, and mutual consent.
Eligibility Conditions
Applicants must have retired from a Central Government Ministry, Department, or Office at Pay Level 8 or above under the 7th Central Pay Commission. The upper age limit is 63 years as on the last date for submission of applications.
Role and Responsibilities
The Consultant will be required to handle administrative, establishment, legal, and public grievance-related matters. The role may also involve dealing with court cases and performing any other duties assigned by the concerned Passport Officer.

Consultants will be posted in Passport Offices located at Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Jalandhar, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Pune, and Vijayawada, with multiple vacancies at select stations.
Remuneration & Service Conditions
A fixed monthly remuneration will be paid, calculated by deducting the basic pension from the last pay drawn at the time of retirement. The remuneration will remain unchanged during the contract period. Consultants will not be entitled to benefits such as Dearness Allowance, HRA, pension-related benefits, medical facilities, or gratuity. Transport allowance will be admissible as per applicable government guidelines. The engagement will be on a full-time basis, and no additional assignment will be permitted during the contract period.
