Japan’s JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program on HRD – Apply Now
The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions has issued a circular inviting applications for the Knowledge Co-Creation Program on Human Resources Development Administration, focusing on the promotion of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). This prestigious program is organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under the Technical Cooperation Program of the Government of Japan. The training will take place from 5th to 13th November 2024 (online) and from 18th November to 6th December 2024 (in person in Japan).
Program Objective
The key goal of this program is to strengthen Human Resources Development (HRD) in participating countries by providing participants with first-hand exposure to the HRD system in Japan. Through expert discussions, comparative studies, and management of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), the program aims to enhance HRD capabilities in the participating nations.
Eligibility Criteria for Applicants
To ensure the most suitable candidates are selected, the applying organizations must nominate individuals who meet the following qualifications:
- Current Position: Candidates should be ranked as a Director General or Director of a department focusing on HRD administration.
- Educational Background: Applicants should hold at least a university degree.
- Language Proficiency: Candidates must demonstrate a strong command of spoken and written English, with scores equal to or higher than TOEFL 550, TOEIC 730, or equivalent.
- Technical Skills: Competency in using tools like Word, PowerPoint, and general PC activities is required.
- Age: Candidates should be between 35 and 55 years of age.
Nomination Process and Key Deadlines
Nominations must be submitted by 9th October 2024, duly authenticated by the Head of Department (HOD) of the respective Ministry or Department. Each application should be submitted in two copies and must adhere to the prescribed format provided by JICA.
Course Coverage
This program covers the round-trip air ticket, travel insurance, and accommodation costs, ensuring a smooth experience for participants. It includes all necessary travel and living arrangements to and from Japan, allowing participants to focus solely on learning and networking.
Selection Considerations
Nominating organizations must provide key details such as:
- Whether the nominee has previously attended any foreign training program.
- Age, current duty station (with specific emphasis on those serving in North East State/J&K).
- A brief justification (50-100 words) explaining why the individual is being nominated.
