No Further 7th Pay Commission Benefits expected As Govt Comes Up With New Decision

If we believe the rumours that are making rounds and go by the way the issue of further hike in minimum pay of the Central government employees has been dilly-dallied, the employees will have to forget about any further hike as the Centre has reportedly come up with a new proposal prior to taking a final call on the employees’ demand.

While the government employees are levelling the new decision of the government as a trick to cheat them, the government is of the view that it will hike the minimum pay but only after going through the process as per the guidelines.

Meanwhile, media reports are there that Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has come up with a decision to form a new high-level committee to look into the demand of increase in minimum pay. Besides, it is expected that the will have  secretaries of different ministries as members.

“What are the guidelines… does anyone know? The Finance Minister had promised to hike the minimum pay but now after lingering the 7th Pay Commission issue for months if Jaitley is planning to form a new committee, it shows the government’s intention of just playing with emotions,” said a Central Income Tax department employee.

When it comes to the interest of the lakhs of employees, nothing should be politicised for mere political gain, he added.

“Almost every month news used to come that in a few months the government would increase the minimum pay. But nothing has happened so far. Forming a new committee has exposed the modus operandi of the government,” said another employee.

The Central government employees have been demanding to increase the minimum pay to Rs 26,000. However, if reports are to be believed, the government was mulling to hike the pay to only Rs 21,000 from the existing Rs 18,000; but it is also in question now.

Meanwhile, news are there that the 7th Pay Commission will be the last pay commission for the government employees. The news has brought confusion among the lakhs of government employees as to how will their new salary look like, how and on what basis the government would increase the salary.
