Sub: Staff Nurse vacancies in Indian Railways-Amendment to extant provision facilitating selection of serving employees who possess Educational Qualification-reg.
Attention is drawn to PNM/NFIR Item No. 19/2018 wherein Federation has proposed that extant provision may be modified for providing opportunity to serving qualified employees to pass selection to the post of Nursing Superintendent (GP 4600/7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-7), as same is available in the category of Pharmacists in terms of para 162 of IREM, Volume I.
The matter has been examined in consultation with the Health Directorate. Extant provision provides that it is within General Manager’s power to conduct GDCE in categories where there is an element of Direct Recruitment of 25% or more. The provision of GDCE may be used by Railways to provide avenue to the staff with requisite qualification.
