Sub.: Revision of Designations of Guard.
The issue of re-designation of ‘Guard’ as ‘Train Manager’ has been under deliberation in Board in consultation with recognized Federations. It has now been decided by the Board to redesignate ‘Guard’ as ‘Train Manager’.
2. The revised designations may be implemented as follows:

| 4 | Sr. Passenger Guard | Rs. 4,200, PB-2, L-6 | Senior Passenger Train Manager |
| 5 | Mail/Express Guard | Rs. 4,200, PB-2, L-6 | Mail/Express Train Manager |
3. The revised designations will not entail any change in their pay levels, method of recruitment, existing duties and responsibilities, seniority and avenues of promotion.
