Sub:- Reimbursement of expenses incurred on medical treatment by employees during COVID-19 period.
During the Standing Committee (JCM) meeting held on 26.02.2021 the staff side has raised the demand for expeditious reimbursement on expenditure incurred by employees on treatment during the covid-19 pandemic periods. Detailed instructions on reimbursement of medical expenses incurred by the employees on treatment and cost of medicines etc. have already been issued to the zones from time to time. However, it has been noted with concern that the zones are taking abnormal time in processing the reimbursement claims and remitting the money to the account of eligible beneficiaries.
It is, therefore, desired that the zones should expedite the process of reimbursement of expenses by tightening the administrative machinery at different levels and ensure that the claims are settled immediately but not beyond a period of 30 days from the date of receipt of the claims so that railway medical beneficiaries do not face unnecessary difficulties.
This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate and has the approval of CRB & CEO.
