Sub: Norms for recruitment of sportspersons in Indian Railways in Cricket game discipline.
Ref: (i) Board’s letter No. 2010/E (Sports)/4(1)/1 (policy) dated 31.12.2010 (RBE No. 189/2010) and clarifications/ corrigendum issued thereto.
(ii) Board’s letter No. 2018/E(Sports)/4(1)/14, dated 13.08.2019.
(iii) Board’s letter No. 2022/E(Sports)/4(1)/14/Gr.b, dated 04.01.2023.

The revised sports norms for recruitment of sportspersons in Indian Railways in Pay Level-1 were issued vide this office’s letter mentioned under reference (iii). Some of the Zonal Railways have approached this office for review/clarification in regard to the norms for recruitment in Cricket game discipline in different pay levels.

2. In view of above, the recruitment norms for cricket game discipline have been reviewed in this office and in supersession of earlier instructions in this regard, it has been decided to revise the norms for recruitment of sportspersons in Indian Railways in the game discipline of Cricket (Men & Women) as under:

3. These instructions will be applicable for recruitment of Men/Women players in cricket game discipline against sports quota in Indian Railways for the year 2024-25 onwards. If any ZR/PU has already notified the recruitment for the year 2024-25 in cricket game discipline on previous norms, it is advised to revise the notification as per above instructions.

4. This issues with the approval of DG(HR).
