The contents of PS No.14519 issued vide this office letter of even number dated 14.03.2016 are revised as under:

Attention is invited towards instructions on calculation of leave salary to running staff contained in the aforementioned letters of Railway Board. However, it has been pointed out by the Union that these instructions are not being adhered to. In order to avoid any anomaly being faced by the Divisions/Units & also for uniform compliance over Northern Railway, the calculation of leave salary in case of running staff is illustrated as under:

Basic Pay (BP) – Rs.5000/-
Pay element @ 30% of BP – Rs.1500/-
New Basic Pay (Total) – Rs.6500/-
Dearness Allowance (DA) – Rs.7735 (119% of New Basic Pay)
Leave Salary Per day – 6500+7735/30 (New Basic Pay + DA/30)

DA has been calculated @ 119% as per prevailing rates and is variable as per rates applicable on that day the leave salary is calculated.

These instructions may be adhered to scrupulously and uniformly by all the Divisions/Units and payment of arrears, if any, may also be made accordingly.
