No deadline for revision of pre 1.1.96 pension/family pension

The Department of Pensions and Pensioner Welfare, New Delhi, has considered the  requests by some pensioner associations  for extending the date for submission of applications by pre 1.1.1996 Pensioners (for revision of pension ) beyond 31/12/2007 and has decided that, in spite of extension of deadline for submission of application from time to time, there may be a few pensioners/family pensioners who could not submit application for revision of pension/family pension w.e.f. 1/1/1996 under the above mentioned orders.  The Ministry has held that this matter was discussed in the 20th meeting of the Standing Committee of Voluntary Agencies (SCOVA). After discussion, the Ministry has  decided that in case any pre-1996 pensioner/family pensioner submits an application for revision of pension/family pension  the same may be considered and pension/family pension may be revised w.e.f. 1/1/1996 without insisting on any deadline for this purpose.
