Hike in room charges of Holiday homes and Touring Officers Hostels

Directorate of estates which maintains holiday homes and touring officers hostels meant for employees of Central Government and Public Sector undertakings, has hiked the room charges with effect from 01.03.2012.

It could be seen that the hike in room charges is almost 3 times to 4 times.  For example, the charges for a double Bed room in Holiday home in Mussurie has been increased from Rs.210 to Rs.600 per day.  Likewise, charges for a double Bed room in Holiday home in Ooty has been increased from Rs.111 to Rs.400 per day.

The holidays homes situted in various tourist spots in India as well as important cites have been classified in to three groups (Category A Category B and Category C).  The room charges have been fixed at an enhanced rate for Category A holiday homes while comparing Category B and C holiday homes.

Holidays homes and Touring Officers hostels situated at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Goa, Shimla, Nainital, Mussoorie, Udaipur, Agra, and Mysore have classified as Category A.

Similarly, Holidays homes and Touring Officers hostels situated at Cochin, Trivandrum, Ooty, Jaipur, Bangalore, and Kanyakumari have been classified as Category B.

Holiday homes and touring officers hostels situated in other places have been classified as Category C.

Office Memorandum

Subject: Rates of room charges of Holiday Homes and Touring Officer’s Hostel under Ministry of Urban Development – Revision thereof.

The undersigned is directed to refer to this Directorates O.M. No. D-11028/8/94-Regions dated 4.7.2001 and 26.12.2001 regarding charges of rooms/suits of holiday homes & O.M. No. D-11028//02/2007-Regions dated 28th January 2008 notifying the rates of charges of rooms/suits of Touring Officer’s Hostels/Guest houses and to say that it has been decided, with the approval of IFD (Ministry of Urban Development) vide Diary Number 681/DFA/FD/11 dated 16.12.2011 to revise these rates based on category/popularity of holiday homes and touring officers hostels/guest houses as per Annexure.

2. This Office Memorandum supersedes all earlier O.M. in this regard and will be applicable w.e.f. 30th day from the date of issue to this O.M. i.e. 01.03.2012.
