EXPANSION OF CGHS
1518. SHRI PINAKI MISRA:
Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the number of dispensaries approved by the Government under the CGHS Scheme, State/UT-wise including Odisha;
(b) whether the Government plans to expand the scheme by opening more such dispensaries;
(c) if so, the details of the proposed timeline thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;
(d) whether there is a shortage of Ayurvedic medicines at CGHS dispensaries;
(e) if so, the details of the steps taken to ensure adequacy of Ayurvedic medicines; and
(f) whether the Government has received any complaints regarding malpractices, irregularities or falsification of medicines at CGHS dispensaries and if so, the details thereof and the steps taken in this regard?

(a) to (f): The list of CGHS Wellness Centres approved – State and UT wise is annexed. Opening of new CGHS Wellness Centres at new places is decided based upon the norms, which include minimum of 6000 central government employees subject to availability of resources and sanction of new posts of staff by Department of expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
Formulary Ayurvedic medicines are available at CGHS Ayurvedic Units and medicines, which are not readily available, are procured through Authorized Local Chemist in Delhi and NCR and beneficiaries are permitted to procure such medicines and claim reimbursement.
Grievances and complaints are regularly addressed. The necessary actions for corrections are accordingly taken.
