Ad-hoc promotion to SO grade in CSS – continuation of.

The Department of Personnel and training (DOPT) has referred their OM No. 6/9/2010-CS I (S) dated 11.11.2010 and 07.04.2011 by which the cadre authorities of CSS were permitted to continue ad hoc promotion in the grade of Section Officer upto 30.06.2011.  Now the DOPT has decided that as the availability of regular Section Officers will take some more time, the period of ad hoc promotion to SO grade is extended beyond 30.06.2011  upto 30.09.2011, subject to certain conditions.   Further, the DOPT decided that no fresh ad hoc promotion should be made in the grade of section Officer.
