STARTING PARAMILITARY FLAG DAY FUND FOR WELFARE OF CAPF PERSONNEL
69. SHRI DEEPENDER SINGH HOODA:
Will the Minister of HOME AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether Government is planning to start a Paramilitary Flag Day Fund aimed at the welfare of the CAPF personnel and their dependents;
(b) if so, what is the planned corpus of the Fund and by when Government is declaring such a Fund;
(c) if not, the reasons therefor and how Government is planning to meet the enhanced fund requirement for CAPF personnel welfare; and
(d) the details thereof?
ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (SHRI NITYANAND RAI)
(a) & (b): No sir.
(c) & (d): There is no common flag representing all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) & Assam Rifles (AR). Each CAPF has its own flag and celebrates its raising day separately. The Government is cognizant of the crucial role played by the CAPFs and AR in National Security and accords high priority to welfare needs of their personnel.
