Odisha Hikes DA By 3% For Govt Employees, DR For Pensioners

On the eve of New Year, here comes a piece of good news for the Odisha government employees.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced a 3 percent hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for State government employees, said an official press release.

With this, the DA of State government employees has been increased to 31 percent from the existing 28 percent.

The hike has been done with retrospective effect from the 1st of July this year.

Dearness Relief (TI) of pensioners drawing pensions on revised rates has been also hiked by 3 percent.

This will benefit 7.5 lakh government employees and pensioners of the State.

In addition to that, the Chief Minister has also decided to pay 30 percent of the arrears towards the 7th Pay Commission.

It is pertinent to mention here that employees have been paid 50 percent of the increased pay under the 7th Pay Commission for the period from January 2016 to August 2017.

This is going to benefit 4 lakh State government employees.
