Confederation Urges Finance Minister to Announce DA, DR, and Bonus Before Festive Season
The Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers has formally appealed to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, calling for the immediate declaration of the overdue Dearness Allowance (DA), Dearness Relief (DR), and Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) ahead of the festive season.
Delay in DA and DR Declaration Sparks Concern
In a letter dated September 30, 2024, the Confederation expressed serious concern over the delay in announcing the new installment of DA and DR, which has been due since July 1, 2024. Typically, the declaration occurs in the last week of September, with arrears paid by the first week of October. The delay has reportedly caused widespread dissatisfaction among central government employees and pensioners, who rely on these payments for their financial stability.
Durga Puja Approaching: Call for Bonus Announcement
In addition to the pending DA and DR, the Confederation highlighted the urgency of declaring the Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) and Adhoc Bonus, as the Durga Puja festival is approaching. Timely disbursement of these bonuses is crucial to ensure employees can enjoy the festive season with financial ease.
Confederation Requests Immediate Action
The letter, signed by Secretary General S.B. Yadav, requested the Finance Minister’s immediate intervention to expedite the declaration of DA, DR, and bonus orders. The Confederation emphasized the need for swift action to address the growing discontent among employees and pensioners.
In closing, the Confederation urged the Finance Minister to swiftly issue the necessary orders for DA, DR, and bonuses, stressing the importance of providing timely relief to government employees and pensioners ahead of the festive season.
