Enhancement of old age pension from the first day of 80th year: Gauhati HC Judgement

The festival season has barely started and it has already brought good news for retired government employees! The central government is likely to provide Dual family pension gift to the families of armed forces personnel on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi! Under this central government decision, the family of army personnel will receive a dual pension. To explain it further, the families of retiring soldiers will get two pensions–family pension as well as special family pension for military service. The government has implemented this pension scheme from September 24, 2012.

According to Harishankar Tiwari, former president of AG Office Brotherhood, Prayagraj, the government has fixed a minimum family pension of Rs 9,000 per month. If we add 12% Dearness Allowance with it, every pensioner will get a benefit of at least Rs 10,000 per month.

7th Pay Commission move beneficiaries

The order to this effect has been issued from the office of Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pension), Prayagraj (Allahabad). The copy of this order is with ‘Zee Business Online’. According to the order, even if a soldier or officer has joined a government department or PSU after retiring from the military, his family will be entitled to get this dual pension.

The central government has issued an order to give dual pension to the families of former soldiers on July 8, 2019. After this, the Controller of Defence Accounts (Pension), Delhi Office has written a letter to PCDA (Pension), Prayagraj (Allahabad) in this regard. In response to the letter, the PCDA (Pension), Prayagraj (Allahabad) has stated that the family of jawan who is entitled to get pension will be entitled to get the benefit under dual pension.
