Deadline Extended for Mandatory iGOT Karmayogi Courses and Assessment Till May 31, 2026

igot karmayogi extension

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has issued an Office Memorandum announcing a further extension of the deadline for completion of mandatory courses and the Comprehensive Assessment on the iGOT Karmayogi platform for Central Government employees and All India Services (AIS) officers.

As per the latest order, the deadline has now been extended to May 31, 2026, or until the submission of the self-appraisal in the Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR), whichever is earlier.

Background of the Extension

Earlier, the DoPT had extended the deadline to April 30, 2026, requiring employees to complete at least 50% of the prescribed courses along with the comprehensive assessment. However, multiple representations were received from State Governments and various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations (MDOs) seeking additional time.

The requests cited administrative constraints due to large-scale deployment of personnel for ongoing and upcoming election-related duties, which hindered timely completion of the mandatory learning modules.

Revised Timeline and Compliance

With the approval of the competent authority, the DoPT has now granted an additional extension. Employees are required to:

  • Complete the prescribed mandatory courses
  • Undertake the comprehensive assessment
  • Ensure completion before May 31, 2026, or prior to APAR submission, whichever comes first

This makes timely compliance crucial, particularly for those preparing to submit their performance appraisals.

Applicability

The directive applies to:

  • Central Government employees
  • Officers of the All India Services (AIS)
  • Stakeholders across Ministries, Departments, and State Governments

Administrative Significance

The iGOT Karmayogi platform is a key component of the Government’s capacity-building initiative aimed at enhancing competency-driven governance. Completion of these courses is linked with performance appraisal processes, making adherence to deadlines essential.

The extension is expected to provide relief to employees engaged in election duties while ensuring that the objectives of continuous learning and skill development under Mission Karmayogi are not compromised.
