iGOT Karmayogi Mandatory Courses: Deadline Extended to April 30, 2026

iGOT Karmayogi deadline extended

In a significant relief to Central Government employees, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has extended the last date for completion of mandatory courses and the comprehensive assessment on the iGOT Karmayogi platform for the reporting year 2025–26.

As per an Office Memorandum issued on March 18, 2026, the deadline has been extended from March 31, 2026 to April 30, 2026.

Extension Linked to APAR Submission

The DoPT has clarified that employees must complete the prescribed mandatory courses and the comprehensive assessment either by April 30, 2026 or before submitting their Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR), whichever is earlier.

The completion status of these courses and assessments will continue to be recorded in the APARs of employees, making compliance an important component of performance evaluation.

Mandatory Learning Under Mission Karmayogi

The requirement for course completion stems from earlier instructions issued on July 4, 2025, under the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPCSCB) – Mission Karmayogi.

Under these guidelines:

  • All Central Government employees and All India Services (AIS) officers are required to complete prescribed courses annually on the iGOT Karmayogi platform
  • Employees must complete at least 50% of the assigned courses during the year
  • A comprehensive assessment framework has also been introduced to evaluate competency levels
  • Both course completion and assessment results are integrated into the APAR system

The courses are assigned by Ministries/Departments or Cadre Controlling Authorities depending on the employee’s role and service category.

Structured Training and Assessment Framework

The earlier instructions also laid down a structured approach for capacity building:

  • Ministries and Departments identify relevant courses for different levels of employees
  • These courses are uploaded as “Training Plans” on the iGOT platform
  • Employees can access these through their “My iGOT” profile
  • Assessments are conducted based on prescribed courses, with results reflected in APARs

Additionally, timelines were fixed for implementation, including course identification, system integration, and rollout of assessments during 2025–26.

What This Means for Employees

The extension provides additional time for employees who have not yet completed the required courses or assessments. However, since the completion status directly impacts APAR entries, employees are advised to finish the requirements well before submitting their performance reports.

The move is expected to improve compliance while ensuring that employees have adequate time to meet the competency-building requirements under Mission Karmayogi.
