7th Pay Commission has recommended two types of pension fixation method for Central Government Civilian Pensioners and Family Pensioners – Out these two options a pensioner can choose the method that is beneficial to him / her.
Seventh Pay Commission report says that there are 51.96 lakh of Central Government Pensioners. Of the total 51.96 lakh pensioners as on 01.01.2014, 11.83 lakh viz., 23 percent were family pensioners.
7th CPC reports that there 51.96 lakhs pensioners. In which 37 percent are in the 60-70 age group, about 26 percent each are in the 70-80 and ‘Others’ age group. The balance 11 percent are in the 80 plus category and thus entitled to enhanced pension based on advancing age.

As of now, the first payment of pension after retirement gets delayed mainly due to two reasons i.e. (i) due to delay in receipt of intimation by the pensioner that pension papers have reached the PDAs and (ii) due to delay on the part of the pensioner in approaching the bank for submission of undertaking/non-re-employment/re-employment certificate
Department of Pension has issued revised format for printing Identity Card incorporating Aadhar Card details to existing Pensioners as well as persons retiring under new Pension scheme
This OM issued Govt of India, Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare has instructed all pensioners and family pensioners to enroll the Aadhaar number in their pension records.
Retiring employees can enter their rememberable work done during their service in the software available in persmin.gov.in/pension.asp Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions with appropriate documents .
The department of pension & pensioners’ welfare is in the process of providing a platform for the retiring central government employees to showcase their commendable work done during their service.
