Rates of Transport Allowance paid to Central Government Employees and Railway Employees are as per classification cities which is based on population. As per Census 2011, five cities have crossed the population benchmark for higher Transport Allowance. Consequently, Railway Employees posted in these cities would be entitled to higher Transport Allowance.
