RECRUITMENT IN RAILWAYS AND ADHERENCE TO RESERVATION POLICY

1586 SHRI ABDUL WAHAB:

Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:

(a) whether it is a fact that Indian Railways have recruited least number of permanent employees in the last eight years;

(b) if so, the details of recruitment held for both permanent and contractual employees with the details of position in the last five years;

(c) whether it is also a fact that, railways recruitment has violated reservation policy in the last eight years; and

(d) if so, the details of recruitment held under the reserved and non-reserved category for the last five years?

ANSWER

MINISTER OF RAILWAYS, COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI ASHWINI VAISHNAW)

(a) & (b): No, Sir. Occurrence and filling up of vacancies is a continuous process and the same is filled by placement of indents by Railways with recruitment agencies as per operational requirements. During the process, vacancies may arise and these are filled subsequently.

The year-wise details of permanent candidates empanelled/ recruited for various Group ‘C’ posts (including Level 1 & Security related Posts) and Contractual employees engaged in the last five years are as under:
