Sub: Reiteration of instructions regarding issue of Protective gears/special accessories for different categories of staff on Indian Railways.
Queries are being received regarding extant instructions for issue of Protective-Gears/special accessories for Track Machine Staff, as mandated by Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety.
2. In this context, the relevant instructions as contained in the Dress Regulations- 2004, issued on 05.01.2005(available on IR’s Website) are reproduced as below:-
Protective Clothing (Para 10.1, Sub-Para (v) at Page No. 6 ):-
“Supply of protective/special accessories to the staff as required may be resolved by General Managers in consultation with their, FA&CAO, with the proviso that supply of protective/special accessories should be restricted to the extant legal/statutory obligation arising out of exposure of occupational hazards.”
3. Keeping this in view, the Railways/PUs may take necessary action accordingly.
