LTC by Air to North East Region and Jammu and Kashmir – Extended as per unconfirmed Media reports
As per news reported Daily Excelsior which is in one of leading News Papers in Jammu and Kashmir, special Leave Travel Concession by Air to Central Government Employees while they travel by LTC to North East Region and Jammu Kashmir, who are otherwise not entitiled to travel by Air on LTC. However, this news is totally unconfirmed till now. This special concession of allowing Central Government Emplyees to travel by Air on LTC would come in to effect only after issue of Office Memorandum by DOPT
The Union Ministry for Tourism today extended by another two years a proposal to grant Leave Travel Concession (LTC) to Jammu and Kashmir and North East by air.
The package was due to expire today.
The extension in package by another two years will allow all categories of Central Government employees to travel to Jammu and Kashmir by air, using either Air India or private airlines by Economy class only, irrespective of their entitlement.
The proposal would not only provide the Central Government employees an additional facility as an incentive but also give boost to tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

I am a Group ‘B” ( Non-Gazetted) wish to visit Bagdogra (Gangtok) on LTC from Chennai. Am I entitled to travel by Air-India from Chennai to Bagdogra via Kolkatta or Am I entitled for Travel by Air only from Kolkatta to Bagdogra.
