NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 15th June, 2020

No. MCI-12(2)/2020-Med.Misc./104489.โ€”In exercise of powers conferred by Section 33 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956), in Supersession of the Medical Council of India with the previous sanction of the Central Government hereby makes the following Regulations to further amend the โ€œMinimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations 1998, namely:-

1 (i) These Regulations may be called the โ€œMinimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions (Amendment) Regulations, 2019.โ€

(ii) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the โ€œMinimum Qualification for Teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations, 1998โ€, the following additions/modifications/deletions/ substitutions, shall be, as indicated therein:-

3. The academic qualification for Radiological Physics be substituted as under:

(A) Professor (I) M.Sc. (Physics) and Diploma in Radiological Physics / M.Sc (Medical Physics) or any other post graduate degree/ diploma recognized by AERB as basic qualification.(II) Ph.D. Associate Professor in the subject for 3 years in a permitted/approved/recognized medical college/institution with 4 Research Publications in Indexed Journal on Cumulative basis with minimum of 2 Research Publications during the tenure of Associate Professor as Ist Author or as corresponding author.
(B) Reader / Associate Professor

The above is substituted vide Notification dated 24.07.2009 as under:- Associate Professor

As Assistant Professor in the subject for 4 years in a permitted/approved/recognized medical college/institution with 2 Research Publications in Indexed Journals as Ist Author or as corresponding author.
(C) Assistant Professor/ Lecturer

The above is substituted vide Notification dated 24.07.2009 as under:- Assistant Professor

M.Sc. (Physics) and Diploma in Radiological Physics / M.Sc (Medical Physics) or any other post graduate degree/diploma recognized by AERB as basic qualification. 3 years Junior Resident in a recognized/permitted medical college in the concerned subject and one year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject in a recognized/Permitted medical college.
(D) Tutor/ Demonstrator/ Resident/ Registrar. MBBS/ M.Sc. (Physics) and Diploma in Radiological Physics / M.Sc (Medical Physics) or any other post graduate degree/diploma recognized by AERB as basic qualification.
