No Plan for introducing CGHS in new cities

The Central Government has no proposal to extend Central Govt Health Scheme (CGHS) to new cities in India. This was stated by the Minister of Health and Family Welfare Shri.Ghulam Nabi Azad. When answering the question in Lok Sabha regarding the subject of CGHS covered cities, the Minister said that the at present no proposal to expand CGHS to new locations due to severe resource constraints, especially the acute shortage of qualified medical and paramedical professionals, besides financial and logistic constraints.

More private hospitals to CG employees and pensioners at Hydrabad and Bangalore for treatment under CGHS

Department of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has empaneled certain private hospitals in addition to the private hospitals already approved for treatment under CGHS to Central government employees and pensioners, at Bangalore and Hydrabad.
