New Rates for Central Government Holiday Homes and Touring Hostels
Directorate of Estates, Ministry of Urban Development has revised Room Charges for Central Government Holiday homes and Officers Touring Hostels vide Office Memorandum No.D-11028/23/82-Regions(Vol.II) dated 10.07.2012.
This is the second revision in room rent in this year as Directorate of Estates had revised the room rent for for Central Government Holiday homes and Officers Touring Hostels, in the month of January 2012. (Click here to read the Office Memorandum D-11028/23/82-Regions(Vol.II) dated 30.01.2012).
The present Office Memorandum dated 10.07.2012, has substantially reduced the room rent for Members of Parliament (for their own stay). For instance, In Holiday homes coming under Category A (Holiday Homes and Touring Officers hostels at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Goa, Shimla, Nainital, Mussoorie, Udaipur, Agra and Mysore), rent for VIP rooms has been reduced from Rs.900 to Rs.150. Likewise Four charges for bedded room for MPs has been reduced from Rs.400 tp Rs.150.
However, in respect of Central Government Employees (both retired and serving), room rent has beeen increased. To illustrate, room rent of Double bedded or Three bedded rooms in Category A Holiday homes has been increased from Rs.300 to 330.
The revision has taken effect from 10th July 2012.

Subject: Rates of room charges of Holiday Homes and Touring Officer’s Hostel under M/O Urban Development – Revision thereof.
In supersession of this Directorate’s O.M. of even No.dated 30th January, 2012, the undersigned is directed to say that the rate of booking charges of rooms/suits in Holiday Homes, Touring Officers’ Hostels/Guest Houses under the control of Directorate of Estates have been revised with the approval of the Hon’ble Minister of Urban Development. The revised rate list on per day basis is enclosed for information and necessary action.
2. The revised rates shall be applicable from the date of issue of this OM.
