KVS Discontinues Offline Fee Payment via Union Bank Challan from April 1, 2026

KVS challan discontinued

In a significant move towards complete digitalisation of fee payments, the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has announced the discontinuation of offline fee payment through challans at Union Bank of India branches. The decision will come into effect from April 1, 2026.

As per the official communication issued by KVS Headquarters, the competent authority has decided to withdraw the option of fee payment through offline mode, specifically via challans deposited at Union Bank of India counters. From the effective date, the UBI Fee Portal System will no longer generate challans for fee payments.

The order further clarifies that any challans generated prior to April 1, 2026, will also become invalid and will not be accepted at Union Bank of India branches for fee payment.

Online Payment Modes to Continue

While discontinuing the offline mode, KVS has confirmed that all existing online payment options will remain operational. These include:

  • Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, RuPay, etc.)
  • Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, RuPay, etc.)
  • Internet Banking and Mobile Banking
  • Unified Payments Interface (UPI)
  • Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS)-enabled platforms
  • POS machines in locations where no bank branch is available within an 8 km radius of the Kendriya Vidyalaya

Instructions to Field Units

KVS has directed all Deputy Commissioners and Directors of Regional Offices and ZIETs to ensure wide dissemination of this information among students, parents, and other stakeholders before March 31, 2026. This is aimed at avoiding any inconvenience in fee payment after the transition to fully online modes.

The communication emphasizes that timely awareness is crucial to ensure a smooth shift and prevent disruptions for students and parents.

Approved by Competent Authority

The order has been issued with the approval of the competent authority and signed by the Joint Commissioner (Finance), KVS.
