Sub: Retention of Railway accommodation at previous place of posting in favour of officers/staff posted to Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USRBL) Project.

Attention is invited to Board’s letters of even no. dated) 27.09.2010, 14.12.2012, 11.06.2018 and 24.03.2023 conveying the decisions of full Board regarding retention of Railway accommodation at the previous place of posting by officers/staff posted to Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail link (USBRL) Project. The permission to retain Railway accommodation is available up to 31.03.2024.

2. Now, on consideration of the request received from Northern Railway and in exercise of the powers vested with the full Board to make reasonable relaxations in public interest for a class/group of employees in all or any of the provisions regarding house allotment/retention, the Full Board have decided that the officers and staff posted at Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar- Baramulla Rail link (USBRL) Project may be permitted to retain railway accommodation, on normal rent, at their previous place of posting for a further period of one year beyond 31.03.2024 i.e. upto 31.03.2025 or till completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

3. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
