RECRUITMENT EXAMINATIONS CONDUCTED BY RRBs

Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:

a) the number of posts for which recruitment examinations have been conducted by Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) in the last one decade;

b) the number of candidates appointed through these examinations;

c) whether it is a fact that many examinations conducted by RRBs have been cancelled due to various reasons;

d) the zone-wise details of such cancelled examinations during the last five years;

e) whether the RRBs have earned a huge sum of money from the candidates; and

f) the details of examination fee collected by RRBs from candidates in the last five years?

ANSWER

MINISTER OF RAILWAYS, COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (SHRI ASHWINI VAISHNAW)

(a): The details of the number of vacancies notified by Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) during 2012-2022 are as under:

(b): 481198 candidates have been empanelled by 21 RRBs & Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs) during 2012-2013 to 2021-2022. This includes provisional figure of 4612 in 2021-2022.

(c): No, Sir.

(d): Does not arise.

(e) & (f): The details of examination fee collected by RRBs during last five years is as under:

Only a nominal fee is taken from candidates and ₹ 400 out of nominal fee of ₹ 500 taken from male candidates belonging to Unreserved (UR) & Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories is refunded to those candidates who appear in the exam. In respect of other categories of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Ex-Servicemen/ Persons with Disabilities, Women, Minorities and Economic Backward Classes, the whole amount of nominal fee of ₹ 250 is refunded to those who appear in exam.
