LTC by air to visit Jammu & Kashmir and North Eastern States – Clarification
The Department of Personnel (DOPT) has issued a OM No.11022/2/2008-AIS-II dated 29.06.2012 wherein the DOPT forwarded the instructions on relaxation regarding LTC by Air travel to North Eastern Region and Jammu and Kashmir respectively in lieu of one LTC (home Town). The above instructions have been made applicable to all India Services officers in respective State cadres under the provisions contained in rule 3 of All India Services(Leave Travel Concession) Rules, 1975.
NPA (Non-Practicing Allowance) shall be taken into account for calculating encashment of Leave on Average Pay (LAP)
For those Government servants who could not commence their outward journey before 30th of April 2011 for LTC to North Eastern Region, here is is some happy news. the Government has decided to extend the permission for air travel to North Eastern Region by availing LTC for a further period of 02 years beyond 1st May, 2012.
Citing DOPT’s stand to allow Government Employees to travel to NER and J&K by air by converting their home town or All India LTC, following clarifications were sought for with Controller of Defence Accounts, by the employees working under the Controller of Defence Accounts.
The employees of Central Government are given various additional concessions such as travel by air, conversion of Home town LTC to NER etc, while we travel to North Eastern Region.
