After the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission were accepted, the Conveyance Allowance has been revised. A note said that the President is pleased to revise the Conveyance Allowance admissible under SR-25.
The note by the government of India says that the same would be in effect from July 1 2017 onwards.
25 per cent increase
These rates shall automatically increase by25% whenever the Dearness Allowance payable on the revised pay structure goes up by 50%. Conditions and provisions mentioned in SR 25 shall continue to apply. These orders will be effective from 1st July, 2017. In so far as the staff serving in the. Audit and Accounts Department are concerned, these orders issue in consultation with the Comptroller & Auditor General’of India.
Special compensatory allowance
The government has also provided a table indicating the grant of special compensatory allowance subsumed under the Tough Location Allowance.
Grant of Project Allowance
In respect of those employees who opt to continue in their pre-revised pay- structure, corresponding Grade Pay in the prescribed pay band as indicated in CCS(Revised) Pay) Rules, 2016 would determine the allowance under these orders. These rates shall increase by 25 per cent whenever the Dearness Allowance payable on the revised pay structure goes up by 50 per cent.
All other terms and conditions governing the grant of this allowance shall remain unchanged.
These orders shall take effect from 1st July, 2017. These orders shall also apply to the. civilian employees paid from the Defence Services Estimates and the expenditure will be charge-able to the relevant head of the Defence Services Estimates in regard to Armed Forces personnel and Railway employees, separate orders will be issued by the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Railways, respectively. In so far as the employees. working in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department are concerned, these orders are issued with the concurrence of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.

Deadline on anomalies extended
The Department of Personnel and Training has again extended the deadline to receive complaints and dispose of pay-related anomalies by government employees with regard to implementation of the 7th pay commission report. The original deadline to receive complaints on any discrepancy arising out of the implementation of the 7th pay commission report was February 15. It was first extended to May 15 and then to August 15, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said.
The deadline to dispose anomalies with regard to implementation of the 7th pay commission report would now be February 15, 2018. The original time limit was August 15, which was later extended to November 15. The government has accepted most of the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, to be implemented from January 1, 2016. The Department of Personnel and Training had last year asked all central government departments to set up committees to look into various pay-related anomalies.
