LTC Rules – Admissibility of Catering Charges in rail journey

This clarification relating to LTC has been issued relating to the doubt raised whether full Rail fare charged for Children from 5 to 12 age group for allotment of berth, will be reimbursed
The Government Employee will be reimbursed the fare incurred for completion of journey to the declared place of visit by own arrangement. This will be restricted to the fare admissible for journey by otherwise entitled mode of public transport

As per the instructions issued by Ministry of Finance, Facilitation fee is not be charged by authorised agents for booking Air Tickets which are reimbursed by Government

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan instructed to purchase Air Tickets directly from offices of the Air India Booking counters or website of Airlines or by utilizing the services of Authorized Travel Agencies namely M/s Balmer Lawrie & Company, M/s Ashok Travels & Tours and IRCTC
Central Government Employees will be eligible for LTC only if travel by Air India Flights after purchasing LTC-80 Tickets. Only on exceptional circumstances such as non-availability of Air India Flights etc travel by Private Airlines would be allowed for reimbursement under LTC
West Bengal State Government has issued orders for allowing its employees to travel specific foreign Countries by availing Leave Travel Concession. West Bengal State government Employees can now travel Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives or within the Country
Central Government Employees would be eligible for reimbursement of LTC for Air Travel only if Air India LTC 80 tickets are purchased except when no Air India Flights are available
DOPT clarifies that relaxation sought for booking LTC air tickets through other travel agents who are not authorised, is to be avoided and that administration has to convey employees at the time of granting LTC Advance
As per Ministry of Finance OM No. 19046/2/2008-E-IV dated 22.04.2015 Central Government Employees are not entitled LTC claim for Premium Train Fare. In such cases LTC will be restricted to normal fare for entitled class of train travel
