Reservation to job placements and enrollment in Education in India is an action designed to improve the well-being of backward and under-represented communities defined primarily by their caste. It’s a phenomenon that commenced with the coming into force of the Indian Constitution.

Reservation in promotion – Minister’s reply

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister for State, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions replied in Lok Sabha on 17.12.2015 regarding reservation in promotions in Central Government Service. Minister also stated that States will have to collect quantifiable data of backwardness, inadequacy of representation before providing reservation in promotion.

Guidelines on issue of domicile and caste certificate to SC/ST students

To reduce the difficulties faced by the SC and ST candidates in getting the domicile and Caste Certificate for getting job and higher education opportunities, DoPT has proposed a draft guidelines and invites comments and suggestions before 21.12.2015. According to the draft Domicile and Caste Certificate will be issued to students in Eighth Standard through School Authorities
