Sub: Recording of higher academic/educational qualification in the service record of employees recruited though RRBs-clarification reg.

2: Board’s letter no. E(NG)I-2016/1C-2/2 dated 19.01.2018 (RBE 07/2018)

Attention is drawn to Boards letter under reference dated 19.01.2018 ibid which provides for recording of such educational qualification in the Service Records of a RRB recruited employee about which he had mentioned in his application form to RRB as an unfinished course.

2. One the Zonal Railways has raised doubts that the clause mentioned in the 1st para of Board’s letter dated 19.10.2018 ibid, is an additional condition not actually stipulated in Board’s earlier letter dated 07.12.2017 ibid on the subject.

3. The matter has been examined. It is clarified that clause mentioned in 1st para of Board’s letter dated 19.01.2018 ibid may be read as ‘about which he had not mentioned in his application form to RRB’ instead of ‘about which he had mentioned in his application form to RRB as an unfinished course’. Other provisions will remain unchanged.

4. This disposes off Eastern Railway’ letter no. E.182/0/Vol.III dated 29.10.2018.
