Sub: Levy of Conservancy Charges.
Ref: Board’s letters No. F(X)1/95/1/1 dated 01.10.99 & 07.09.2021.
Board’s letter under reference dated 01.10.99 stipulates levy of conservancy charges on non-Railway Bodies/Persons utilizing Railway premises viz. all Vending & Catering Stalls, Engineering Works Contractors, Goods Handling Contractors, Agencies storing materials, Railway institute & clubs, etc. The last review of rates of conservancy charges was done in 2021 and the revised rates were conveyed to Zonal Railways vide Board’s letter dated 07.09.2021.
2. The issue of levy of conservancy charges on catering stalls/units and multipurpose Stalls/units covered under Catering Policy, 2017 & Multi Purpose Stalls Policy, 2017 has been considered by Board, as these policies do not envisage levy of any charges other than license fee, water and electricity charges. It is clarified with the approval of Board that for contracts regulated in terms of Catering Policy, 2017 & Multi Purpose Stalls Policy 2017, levy of conservancy charges is exempted.
3. These instructions would take immediate effect.
