Sub: Exemption from passing the Type Test on alternative appointment for medically de-categorised employees in the post of ministerial categories.
As the Railway administrations are aware, instructions exist for exemption from passing the type test for recruitment from the open market and promotions in clerical posts for certain categories of employees.
2. On demand of some Zonal Railways and the Staff side, the matter regarding doing away with Type Test for staff recruited/appointed to the clerical posts other than open market recruitment, where clearing the type test is a mandatory condition, has been examined. It has now been decided by the competent authority that medically de-categorised staff who are given alternative appointment in clerical categories, may be exempted from the requirement of passing the type test as a necessary condition for drawing future increment(s).
3. These instructions will take effect from the date of issue of this letter.
