Subject: – Counting Leave Without Allowance (other than on account of deputation/engagement in MTS/Postman Post) as qualifying engagement for granting annual increment to GDS-regarding.

Please refer to your office letter No. EST/S-4/Unions/2021-22 dated 13.01.2023 on the above noted subject.
2. In this context, as per instructions contained in OM No. 40-58/78-Pen, dated the 25th April, 1981, only unauthorized absence/leave without the approval of the engaging authority constitutes break in engagement of a GDS, unless regularized by the competent authority. The LWA is an authorized kind of leave.
